Undergraduate General Information
A degree in chemistry or biochemistry enables a student to
pursue a wide variety of careers: in research,
production, sales, management, and teaching. These degrees
are also an excellent preparation for professional studies
in medicine, dentistry, veterinary science, optometry,
pharmacology, pharmacy, and law.
A
total of 146 undergraduate students are studying Chemistry
or Biochemistry as their primary major.Of these, 21% are
white and 79% are from other ethnic backgrounds. There are
five divisions of chemistry - Analytical, Biochemistry,
Inorganic, Organic, and Physical. We have a total of 20
active faculty members
Chemistry majors who have completed the requirements for the
Bachelor of Science degree may receive
American Chemical Society
certification of they take one additional
one-semester course which includes 1 credit of laboratory.
