ESR data
transfer procedure.
Thanks to Andrei Astashkin, who wrote the program, the data
transfer from Bruker to a PC can be done through the RS232 port .
The Com 2 port on the lab PC is connected to the RS232 port
marked on the Bruker computer rack as "RS" through a 25
pin cable (with a "null modem" on one end).
In order for the data to be transferrred, the following
procedure should be initiated:
- Restart computer in DOS.
- Start the program called "rddtdos2.exe"; it will
prompt you for the name of the file you're going to write
(it has no relation to the name of the file on the
Bruker hard disk and may be different from it).
- On the prompt for NY, reply 1 (the program is designed to
accept both, 1D and 2D files, and asks to define
the number of slices in Y manifold (NY). Since we are
transferring 1D files, NY=1 should be chosen). If NY
<> 1 then it asks for NX as well.
- Program responds "Start merge".
- Now you can go to the Bruker console and write at the $
prompt:
"merge filename.spc >/rs"
where filename is the name of the file you are
transferring
- Upon receiving all the data the program will tell you the
number of points received.
- Repeat procedure for other files.
- NB. As of
now, the program does not record information about
configuaration at which your data were taken.
RECORD IN YOUR NOTEBOOKS
- central field
- sweep field
- microwave frequency and power (the latter is not crucial
but could be handy)
You will need this information for proper calculations of g-values
and hfi.
