Sensor Research Group
Professor Wang's group is based in over 2700 square ft of space, located in 4 modern laboratories at the NMSU chemistry building. The laboratories are well equipped with modern instrumentation and microfabrication tools, including twelve modern electrochemical analyzers, a clean environment workstation, a high-precision semi- automatic screen printer (MPM), two Nikon video microscopes (for microfabrication efforts, i.e., preparation of microfluidic CE chips, mass production and inspection of patterned disposable electrodes), microfluidic CE chips, glucose analyzers (YSI), quartz crystal microbalance, liquid chromatographs, PCR/DNA amplification equipment, miniaturized analytical systems, DNA electrophoresis system, flow injection systems, numerous rotating disk electrode stands and various small equipment (pH meters, digital balances, computer-controlled ovens, five full-sized hoods, etc.). Nine Pentium IV. PCs are also included for experimental control and processing of data. Cold rooms and various bioanalytical instruments are available in the department. Other resources include a machine shop, glass blowing facility, scanning electron microscopy facility, and an electronic shop (all maintained by the College of A & S).
